:: R’Club Early Learning Academy at Tampa Telecom Park
Our Mission
The goal of R’Club Early Learning Academy at Tampa Telecom Park (formerly Aberdeen Preparatory School) is to create a model environment in which children ages six weeks old through five years old receive the highest quality care and opportunities to learn that will prepare them for success in school and in life. It is a secure, caring environment staffed by professionally-trained teachers who are invested in the academic, emotional, physical, and social development of all children.
Conveniently Located
Located within Tampa Telecom Park two miles East of I-75 and East Fletcher Avenue, directly across the street from Hillsborough County's Lettuce Lake Park, the five-acre campus includes two large fenced playgrounds and an undisturbed, natural preserve to provide on-site, hands-on science exploration. It is is convenient to Hidden River, Temple Terrace, USF, Tampa Palms, and New Tampa.
Open Door Policy
R’Club Early Learning Academy maintains an open door policy. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to visit their child at any time. Unlike other schools where unannounced visits by parents may be discouraged or prohibited, our parents are welcome at all times. Additionally, all of the classroom doors have windows so parents can observe their children at any time.
Infant Center
R’Club Early Learning Academy respects parents’ role as their child’s first teacher and primary caregiver. Parents are active participants in their child’s experience and teachers work hard to establish a trusting relationship with the infants in their care and with the infants’ parents.
R’Club Early Learning Academy’s Infant Care Center has been designed with infants’ safety, health and comfort in mind. Parents rest assured that whether their child is in his or her own crib, the vinyl-matted and raised play area or the changing table or in the caring arms of his or her caregiver, their child is receiving the highest quality care available.
Infants are placed throughout the wings according to their chronological age and development. Daily activities are planned to help each infant become more aware of and comfortable with his/her environment. Throughout the day, teachers play music, sing, recite nursery rhymes, read books and interact with the infants. A wide variety of sensory and discovery toys that foster healthy development are provided for the children.
Each child has his or her own crib which is clearly marked with the child's name and date of birth. Crib sheets are provided by the school and are changed daily. Parents are welcome to bring a special blanket or toy from home to assist their child in the transition from home to school.
Each child has a personal "cubby" where their belongings are kept. All personal items are marked with the child's name and an extra change of clothes are asked to be kept at school.
Daily reports are sent home everyday. These communications are one of the important links between home and school. They give parents a very good idea of how their child and their child's day have progressed. Important information about feeding, nap times, bowel movements, supplies needed and any special observations are included on these daily reports.
Pre-K1 / Toddler Classroom
The goal of the Toddler Classroom is to provide learning space for the children who are developmentally ready to move on from the Infant Center. In the Toddler Classroom, toys, furniture arrangement and the learning environment are designed to encourage the development of small and large motor skills, to foster social skills and to help the toddler learn about their world.
Pre-K2 Classroom
The two-year-old class is for children ready to leave the Toddler Center but still transitioning to the academic structure and toilet learning of a Prek3 class. The emphasis of this class is on the individual. How does my body work? What is my family? What is my world? This class is designed to move children into a more self-directed phase of independence. Through exploration and investigation fundamental skills such as recognizing colors, shapes, counting, sorting, and alphabet awareness emerge.
Pre-K3 Classroom
The three-year-old class is a combination of center-based learning and teacher-directed activities designed to provide children with a sound educational foundation upon which to build the rest of their learning. The goal is to provide and encourage a healthy, positive attitude about learning and education; the children will go on with their education.
VPK Classroom
The VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) classroom for four year old children is aimed at making each child ready for success in school. The VPK curriculum is designed to help the child reach out and find and enjoy the excitement in each learning experience. Hands-on activities and teacher-directed lessons help further develop concentration skills and attention span. The VPK curriculum also provides more opportunities to develop small motor skills.
